Twitter’s head of acquisitions flees the coop.

Twitter said March 2, 2015 it was working with law enforcement officials on unspecified threats, amid reports that the social network had been targeted for blocking accounts linked to the Islamic State. “Our security team is investigating the veracity of these threats with relevant law enforcement officials,” a Twitter spokesman said, without elaborating. A page on the online bulletin board Pastebin, the source of which could not be verified, showed an image of Twitter founder Jack Dorsey in what appear to be the crosshairs of a rifle scope and a message in Arabic. Garg’s departure comes weeks after the company said it is replacing CEO Dick Costolo with Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, who is also founder of Square.

Costolo had been blasted for for a dizzying array of changes to the company’s strategy, a decline in the stock price and concerns over slower-than-expected growth.
