Houston Neighborhood Says Drinking Water Filled With Worms.

(Photo by PHILIPPE HUGUEN/AFP/Getty Images) HOUSTON (CBS Houston) – We’re told to drink lots of water to help beat the heat, but residents of a Houston suburb are finding something unwanted in their tap water. “That’s worms!According to KHOU, about 30 residents turned up at their water utility holding evidence of worms of different colors and sizes that came out of their taps.

The private company, J&S Water, says it did have a power outage this weekend and some equipment broke, so it flushed the system and on Tuesday asked folks to start boiling their water. Neighbors came to the water facility hoping to talk to someone from the company but the spokesman is out of town. “There’s nothing coming from our pipes”, said Miles.

With environmental crews unable to visit the affected area until the end of this week, Mayor Joe Landry offered bottled water and a location for worm-free showers.
